Homoeopathy is a comprehensive system of medicine based on the principle that “like cures like” meaning that a substance which can cause symptoms in a healthy person can cure similar symptoms if given in minute doses. The aim of homoeopathic treatment is to stimulate the body's own natural ability to heal itself and overcome disease.
At the initial consultation the homoeopath builds up a complete picture of the patient, including details of their symptoms, past history, physical and emotional state of health and particular likes and dislikes. Specific remedies can then be prescribed on a very individual basis. These remedies usually consist of small pleasant tasting pills that dissolve easily in the mouth.
Homoeopathic treatment is completely non-addictive and free from adverse side effects and can therefore be taken by patients of all ages even during pregnancy.
